Macquarie Island, which lies 900 miles to South Australia is a home to 4 million penguins. The island is only 20 miles long and is totally packed with penguins, 100,000 seals and some other sea creatures. In the 20th century, there was a time when the population of penguins on the island was near extinction.
To protect the wildlife, some conservation measures were implemented in 1960. This initiative to save the wildlife helped penguins to get the heavenly home surrounded by the greenery and far from mankind. The Penguins stride freely and happily across the island.
Forest Rangers look after the place and provide full security to the creatures as well. Wildlife tourists love to visit the site to enjoy the boat trip and see the colony of penguins. But, they have to seek permission from the authority before entering penguins' personal island paradise.
