4-Million Penguins Rule This Tiny Island In Australia. Whoa!
Macquarie Island, which lies 900 miles to South Australia is a home to 4 million penguins. The island is only 20 miles long and is totally packed with penguins, 100,000 seals and some other sea creatures. In the 20th century, there was a time when the population of penguins on the island was near extinction.

To protect the wildlife, some conservation measures were implemented in 1960. This initiative to save the wildlife helped penguins to get the heavenly home surrounded by the greenery and far from mankind. The Penguins stride freely and happily across the island.

Forest Rangers look after the place and provide full security to the creatures as well. Wildlife tourists love to visit the site to enjoy the boat trip and see the colony of penguins. But, they have to seek permission from the authority before entering penguins' personal island paradise.

This island is totally covered in snow and ice and what else you can find here is the colony of penguins.

These cute creatures can be seen enjoying a bath in the ocean off Lusitania bay on the packed Macquarie Island.

The gang of penguins freely wander across the sandy beach on their personal island paradise.

This is the colony of king penguins on the east coast of Macquarie.

The newcomer in the island is welcomed and grown up with the great care and love.

The adult penguins protect a creche of chicks on beach from the icy coastal wind.

Penguins share their island home with 100,000 elephant seals.

Occasionally, tourists visit this lush and green island to enjoy the boat trips.

Rangers look after the island and oversee all the visits and there are strict guidelines control for number of people coming ashore at once.
