This Is The Exact Time It Takes To Burn Of Your Favorite McDonalds Meal?

There are times I spend fifteen minutes on a treadmill, only to look at my calorie burn and think “great, I’ve just about burnt off an apple.” Yet rarely do I eat a Big Mac and think “I wonder how long this will take to burn off”. This is mostly because I don’t want to know the answer. After all, ignorance is indeed bliss.

Well it’s time to face the truth. What I discovered may well be slightly upsetting to those who consider their weekly McDonald’s trip one of their life highlights. (Sorry!) Using the Home Remedy Shop website, I inputted some popular meals, then the website revealed how many calories were in said meal and how long it would take to burn them off!

1. Large Big Mac Meal

The table below shows that a large Big Mac meal consists of 1,330 calories (take note food lovers – that’s without a McFlurry or apple pie). How long does that take to burn off you ask?

Well, it would take you a casual three hours and 16 minutes to burn off using cardio gym equipment. Or you can walk it off in a short six hours and 53 minutes.

 2. Sausage and Egg McMuffin

Considering two poached eggs on wholemeal toast is around 221 calories, this McDonald’s breakfast does seem unnecessarily calorific at 1,160. But if the sausage and egg McMuffin with a hot chocolate is what tickles your 9am fancy, then know that it comes at a cost. The below breakfast would take five hours and four minutes of dancing to burn off. Now that is a lot of twerking.

Right, so let us put that into perspective. 20 nuggets, fries and an apple pie works out at 1,700 calories. That’s the equivalent of 425 spears of asparagus, 243 celery sticks or 57 carrots. Now that is a lot of veg. I think I’d still prefer the nuggets though.

 4. 6″ Meatball Marinara Sub

At a modest 940 calories, this meal would take a mere two hours and 28 minutes of running to burn off. Yet somehow, not eating the meatball sub and avoiding that run seems like a much more appealing option.

 5. Burger King’s Double Whopper

This meal includes a Double Whopper with large fries and an ice cream sundae, which would take 11 hours and 37 minutes of yoga to burn off. Though in all fairness, I’m not sure yoga would be my exercise of choice when trying to burn off a burger and fries.

That will certainly make me think twice before going for a cheeky late night drive-thru for 2am nuggets and fries. If you love burgers more than life and aren’t ready to part with them just yet, there’s always the option of making them yourself. Homemade burgers are the healthier alternative and are pretty simple to create, as this bull terrier demonstrates.

In fact, the perks of making homemade burgers is that all that faffing around in the kitchen burns off half the calories of the burger before you eat it. Probably.
