Green Giant Introduces New Veggie-Based Spiral Pasta

There’s just something so comforting about diving into a big bowl of pasta. If you’re watching your carbs, however, suddenly spaghetti night has become a lot more problematic. Combined with the fact that many people are going gluten-free, pasta alternatives are becoming more and more popular. One solution is to replace your pasta with spiralized veggies—everything from zucchini to butternut squash to cucumbers can take the place of your fettuccine.

If you haven’t jumped on the spiralizing bandwagon yet (who has time for that?), but you are interested in slashing carbs and upping your veggie intake, there’s a new product about to hit the market that just might be the answer to your prayers. Green Giant is debuting a whole line of frozen veggie spirals in 2018.

With no prep and no cleanup necessary, this new addition to the frozen foods aisle makes spiralized veggies more convenient than ever.

“They’re 100% vegetables, and they have 65-90% FEWER carbs than traditional pasta. There are 4 varieties: butternut squash, zucchini, beets & carrot… all AMAZING!” Lillien writes in her post.

The spiralized veggies are set to hit supermarkets in January 2018, just in time for your New Year’s resolution to eat healthier. Once they’re available, you can use Green Giant’s store locator feature on their website to track them down at a retailer near you.

If you’re wondering how the heck to incorporate this pasta alternative into your diet, the answer is to simply sub them in wherever you’d normally use traditional pasta. Check out this recipe for zucchini “spaghetti” that will trick the whole family into getting their veggies.

Can’t resister a good bowl of mac and cheese? You’ll never know the difference with this butternut squash “mac” and cheese.
