Celine Dion just can't seem to catch a break lately.
The last year-and-a-half have been especially hard for the vocal powerhouse. She lost both her husband and brother to cancer in 2016, and then on top of it all, she has been struggling with a few health problems.
Dion has been dealing with a health crisis for a while now, although she never really explicitly revealed what she was diagnosed with, until recently.
In the 2010 documentary about her Taking Chances tour, Celine: Through the Eyes of the World, she got a little more personal with fans by revealing that the issue with her throat, which forced her to cancel a few shows back in 2008, was a lot more serious than she was letting on.
Cameras followed her as she visited Dr. Gwen Korovin, the "throat specialist to the stars," in an attempt to get to the bottom of the problem.
Dion did not really publicly discuss her throat problem for a while, so fans assumed she was on the mend. It wasn't until a few years later, in 2014, that the singer's reps revealed that she would taking time off from her Las Vegas residency and Asia tour to focus on her family as well as her illness.
“My luck hasn’t been very good lately," the 49-year-old entertainer wrote on social media. "I’ve been so looking forward to doing my shows again and this happens. I just can’t believe it! I apologize to everyone who planned to travel to Las Vegas to see my show. I know how disappointing this is, and I’m so sorry."
