Prepare Yourself: 10 Signs He Is Going To Ghost You

Some guys, for whatever reason, tend to be good at ghosting people. In other words, they just seem to disappear from our lives without a single word or reason. Luckily, there are usually signs that a guy is about to ghost you. It’s good to know what these signs are, so you can prepare yourself for what may come.

He Avoids Giving Out Personal Information
Typically, when you start dating someone new, the both of you share bits and pieces of information about yourselves in order to get to know each other better. Otherwise, how would you honestly be able to tell if you two have anything in common, or if this new guy is even right for you?

If it seems like you are the only one disclosing information about yourself while he remains a complete mystery, you may want to start taking that as a warning sign that he might intend to ghost you. When someone is serious about you, they tend to be open to talking about themselves and sharing personal information.

He Bails On You Early On
In most relationships, the guy doesn’t start bailing on your plans until you have been together for some time (since they usually want to appear to be an awesome dependable guy). If he bails on you for a good reason, that's fine. If he just wanted to hang out with the guys instead, something may not be quite right.

The beginning of relationships is when things sometimes seem their best. So, if he has the habit of bailing on your pretty often, you may want to take that as a sign that there is a chance he may try to ghost you.

He Acts Distant When You're Together
Have you ever been in the same room with someone but felt like that person was so far away and distant from you? It's not a pleasant feeling. When you are with your guy and he always seems distant or distracted, that is never a good sign.

Usually, it means his mind is elsewhere and preoccupied when he should be focusing on you. If you notice that he is not fully present when you two are together, he may not even be interested in you. This is a sign that he may be getting ready to ghost you.

He’s Always On His Phone, But Doesn’t Get Back To You
If he always seems to be on his phone when you two are trying to spend some time together, that could be a bad sign. If, despite this, he never seems to get back to you when you text or call him, it could also mean that he is getting ready to ghost you.

This means that he sees that you are trying to get in touch with him, but he just doesn't care since he is blatantly trying to ignore you. There is also a good chance that you might not be the only woman he is talking to.

He Only Responds With One-Word Texts
You may have spent the past hour trying to figure out the perfect message to send to him, but then when he replies it is nothing more than a single word (despite your best efforts to get more out of him).

If this sounds familiar to you, then there is a chance that your guy is getting ready to ghost you. When he replies with single word texts, it can sometimes be seen as a way to keep you hanging on since you are not being outright ignored... yet. Prepare yourself now.

He Only Seems To Want To Be Intimate
They say guys only have one thing on their mind, and in some cases that may be true. This may be one of the most common ways a guy might ghost a woman. Your guy may even take you out for a date or two, but at the end of it all it may seem like the only thing he is interested in is being intimate. After he gets what he wants, he may disappear from your life altogether.

This may leave you wondering what you did wrong, when you most likely did nothing wrong at all. It might just be the kind of guy that he is, which is just not right no matter how you look at it.

It Feels Too Good To Be True
The old saying “if it seems too good to be true then it usually is,” may ring true for so many people. At first, the guy may seem like he is totally into you. He may do the whole hearts and flowers kind of thing, yet something may still appear to be off with him.

If everything seems perfect, yet your gut is telling you that something isn’t right, listen to those intuitive feelings. Some guys may falsely put their all into making you feel wanted, just to end up ghosting you.

He Gives Excuses Galore
We all have to give excuses for missing out on things every now and again, but when it comes to guys who are known to ghost women... well, they seem to be filled with excuses galore.

The guy bailed on you again? He has an excuse for that. He shows up extremely late for your date? He has an excuse for that too. No matter what seems to happen, there is an excuse for it.

Sometimes his excuses may seem legitimate, while other times they may sound completely ridiculous. After a while, the excuses may stop, but that may only be because he stops responding to you altogether. If the excuses start from the very beginning, prepare yourself, because there is a chance that he may ghost you.

He Seems To Be Keeping Secrets
The more secretive the guy, the higher the chances that he is going to ghost you. If you two have been talking for a little a while (or even started dating) yet he doesn’t seem to want to introduce you to his friends or family, there may be something else going on. Most people want to introduce their new partner to the people that they care about the most. If this isn’t happening, start to prepare yourself for a grim outcome.

Along with not wanting you to meet anyone, he may tilt his phone out of view when he is texting, he could leave the room when he has a call coming in, or he may even ask you to be quiet when he receives a phone call. If any of this has happened to you, you may want to break it off before he even has the chance to disappear from your life. This kind of secretive behavior is never a good thing.

He Won’t Talk About The Future
If he seems apprehensive or dismissive when you start to talk about the future (even if it's just an upcoming event), there is the possibility that he isn’t looking to stick around for the long run. He may not even respond to you when you try bringing up anything that could be seen as making future plans, or he might change the subject immediately.

Actions tend to speak louder than words, so pay attention to his body language. Does he seem uncomfortable --or even a little nervous-- once you start making future plans? If he crosses his arms, that could be seen as a sign of defensiveness as well. If you try to make plans for an event and he keeps ignoring the subject or he says things like, “I don’t know, I have to see,” prepare yourself because he may try to ghost you.
