If State Slogans Were Movie Posters, They'd Look Something Like This

What if somebody decided to make movies using only State slogans? They’d probably look a little something like this.

So here’s a neat idea: what if a particularly creative bunch of people took a bunch of State slogans and turned them into a movie? Or in this case, several movies? What would those movies look like, and what states would they choose?

Well, now don’t need to even worry about any of those questions, because a creative bunch of people has already done the heavy lifting for us. Courtesy of NetCredit.com, we have six US State slogans picked and six fake movie posters that we wish could all be turned into feature-length films. Or, at the very least, a TV mini-series.

TEXAS - GO BIG OR GO HOME
Texans certainly have a way with words. The slogan really lends itself to a sports drama, and the selection of football just seems natural here. For some reason, there are only four players on either side, but maybe this is just a team practice or something.

SOUTH CAROLINA - WHILE I BREATHE, I HOPE
South Carolina has a particularly sad slogan which really works well with the old-timey war movie motif. In this case, a soldier falls in love with a Southern belle but has to go off to fight in World War II. Apparently a British soldier by the look of the Lee Enfield rifle and the helmet.

MARYLAND - AMERICA IN MINIATURE
Wait wait, hold on! That’s Maryland’s old slogan. The current slogan is, "If you're looking for a merry land, go to Maryland!" Guess the old slogan just lends itself to a family comedy way more than the current one.

And man, we’re getting Pixar vibes off this movie for sure if it had just a touch more CG. Definitely a Disney film at the very least, which is apparently most films these days.

NEW HAMPSHIRE - LIVE FREE OR DIE
A slogan that hasn’t been changed since the Civil War era is DEFINITELY the plot of an apocalyptic Earth versus Big Scary Aliens film. This might as well be a modern interpretation of Independence Day. Independence Day 3? We’d see it.

MONTANA - BIG SKY COUNTRY
This is definitely Brokeback Mountain with only one dude. A period piece that’s ruined by the inclusion of a sign for Yellowstone National Park, as though we needed a reminder that the beautiful Montana scenery is federally protected land.

UTAH - LIFE ELEVATED
Utah easily has the most modern slogan, and so lends itself to a science fiction first contact movie extremely well. A telepathic kid goes atop a mesa and signals the alien’s arrival using his mind. Probably would be too high-brow to be a box office hit these days, but dang if it wouldn’t be a great flick.
